Coffee pods are a fairly new development in the coffee brewing world. They are designed for people who live alone, or people who live with non coffee drinkers. Several companies make coffee pods, but Senseo is the most popular, and in my opinion, the best. Senseo was also the first company to introduce coffee pods, and they have sold 10 million+ units in the past 4 years. The main advantage of Senseo coffee pods is speed. They can brew a cup in as little as 30 seconds. Most people don’t have much time in the morning, and they just want to get out the door, with coffee in hand. With traditional coffee makers, this simply isn’t possible. Many people end up getting frustrated with waiting for coffee, so they just buy it. Buying coffee at Starbucks and other coffee shops is expensive and can really start adding up as a serious expense, especially if you drink coffee daily.

Coffee pods are basically round tea bags. You place the Senseo coffee pod in the coffee maker, and in about 30 seconds you’ll have a delicious, frothy cup of coffee. I have been using Senseo coffee pods for the past several months, and I can tell you truthfully that it’s some of the best coffee I’ve ever tasted, and by far the best coffee that I’ve made at home. Best of all, coffee pods are very affordable. You can get a 6-pack of bags (18 pods per bag) for around $32. That’s 108 Senseo coffee pods total, which comes out to around $0.30 per cup of coffee. Compare that to the $1.50-$2+ you’d pay for a straight cup of coffee at a store, or the $3-$6+ you’d pay for a mixed drink, and the savings will really start to add up.
